Working From Home? Here Are Some Cleaning Tips

Many of us are working from home, and this means we’re dirtying our homes quicker than usual. Therefore, keeping your home office clean is crucial. Here are some tips.

  1. Clean Your Office Electronics

Turn off your electronics to get rid of static electricity. Use a microfiber cloth or electronic wipe to clear the dust from your keyboard and screen(s). Dampen the cloth once the dust is gone to wipe away oils and grimes.

  1. Remove Stains from Surfaces

Use a scraper tool to remove hardened stains on laminate surfaces. Drips from coffee and foods can go away using a hard card for scraping followed by a wipe with a sponge and all-purpose cleaner. Wood surfaces require more natural cleaners. Ink stains can be removed with a wipe of a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.

  1. Disinfect Office Equipment

Use compressed air to blow gunk and dust out of tight spaces. Use a damp cloth to wipe down cables and connections. Use a cotton ball dipped in alcohol to wipe off stains.

  1. Prevent Future Buildup of Dust & Grime

Fill a spray bottle with a third cup of 70% rubbing alcohol, 3 cups of water, and a tablespoon of dish cleaner. Spray down your work surface at the end of each day and wipe with a microfiber cloth. Sweep or vacuum under your office furniture with regularity and remove unnecessary clutter or paper files you don’t need about once a month.
